VES AUTOFOCUS: AUTOFOCUSING BIOPTIC FOR LOW VISION

November 29th, 2009 admin Posted in Vision Magnifiers | 3 Comments »

The award-winning* Ocutech VES- AutoFocus is the world’s only self-focusing bioptic telescope. The VES- AutoFocus provides the most natural magnified vision possible because wherever you look, the image will be clear immediately, just like natural vision. It removes the most inconvenient parts of using a bioptic telescope- focusing, and the most fatiguing- having to hold still to keep the image clear.

Not only is it great for distance activities, the VES- AutoFocus is the first low vision aid to provide comfortable, convenient, natural magnified vision at normal near distances, to play cards, musical instruments, use the computer and many other activities. This naturally clear magnification allows the visually impaired to work much more efficiently and in a much more relaxed and comfortable posture.

* Winner of the 1999 Winston Gordon Award presented by the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.

A Recommended place for a American Senior Citizen in Mexico ?

November 23rd, 2009 admin Posted in Independent Living Aids | 3 Comments »

Where is a good place recommended for a American
Senior Citizen living abroad in Mexico in a Senior Citizen home with the same treatment as of the U.S for Healthcare for which they can afford in mexico but not as for in the U.S ?

I same on the internet a video of retirement places and nursing homes that they treat Americans same care as of U.S
a American cannot afford in the U.S but can in mexico ?

Retirement homes and nursing homes in Mexico are FAR below the standards in the U.S. AND… you don’t have MEDICARE or MEDICAID in Mexico so your part F or part D plans are worthless.

My next question would be, "how well do you speak Spanish"? Any nursing home in Mexico is NOT going to be AmeriKan speaking and it will be up to YOU to learn Spanish… because they are not going to learn AmeriKan just to satisfy your needs.

As for where the best place for AmeriKans to move to in Mexico… Guadalajara is the absolute BEST… the weather is the best in this Hemisphere and there is a very large AmeriKan Ex-pat community in that city. Also, the medical care in Guadalajara is probably the best of any place in Mexico.
